That is exactly the path John followed before opening his own company, Superior Golf Concepts in November of 2001.
John was formally educated at Southern Technical Institute - a division of Georgia Tech. After college he started his own landscape design and construction company in Stone Mountain, Georgia. By the early eighties, John had gone all in with golf and teamed with other contractors in the Atlanta area to build and renovate golf courses. It wasn't long before the Golden Bear himself noticed and in late 1983, he was asked to join the Jack Nicklaus's construction arm - Paragon Golf Construction.
For the next 15 years, he traveled the world for the Nicklaus organization holding the positions of Shaper, Design Coordinator, Design Associate, Director of Field Operations Europe and Vice President of world-wide operations for Paragon Golf. In 1998, John was asked to start the Golf Division at Weitz Construction Company as the Senior Project Manager. A position he held until starting his own smaller and highly mobile golf construction company based in Jupiter, Florida.
